I am a research scientist working in digital public health. My research is set within the context of the digital transformation of healthcare and aims to address contemporary public health challenges by effectively harnessing the vast volumes and wide diversity of available data. This requires the introduction and use of data science tools and methods to tackle these challenges. My research is based on a strong interdisciplinary approach between traditional public health, which requires significant domain knowledge, and digital science. My work focuses on studying the exposome, particularly its occupational, environmental, behavioral, and digital components (i.e., factors influencing the use of digital technologies and their potential impact on health). I develop and adapt integrated and reproducible data mining and AI approaches to observe, analyze, predict, and prevent the impact of the exposome on human health. This includes identifying and characterizing occupational and environmental exposures, assessing the health risks associated with these exposures, predictive modeling of risks, as well as identifying risk factors influencing various health events.
