Ji-Yun Hwang is an Associate Professor of Major of Foodservice Management and Nutrition at Sangmyung University, Seoul, Korea. My overall research focuses are theory- and evidence-based nutrition education, the development of knowledge for interventions to improve the nutrition of the underprivileged using epidemiology and qualitative methods, evaluation of the effectiveness of nutrition programs and policies, and dietary factors related to chronic diseases. I got my Ph. D. from the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. I have authored about 100 peer-reviewed papers, including first or senior-authored publications. The significance of my research has been recognized by many awards and honors, including the SNEB-KSCN Professional Award from Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior, the Excellent Young Scientist Award from the American Society for Nutrition, and a Richard Barnes Fellowship.
