Over the past decade, my research as an environmental biochemist has focused on a vital question: how do trace metals in our environment shape human health? Bridging environmental metallomics and public health, I track toxic and essential elements (like lead, antimony, and chromium) across air, water, soil, and food crops using high-precision ICP-MS and ICP-OES platforms. Moving beyond exposure mapping, my work investigates real-world clinical and epidemiological links—such as heavy metal burdens in various diseases, early-life environmental exposures via mother–child birth cohort, and occupational hazards from informal e-waste and lead-acid battery repair. Earlier work also expands into molecular diagnostics, developing electrochemical immunosensors and aptasensors for breast cancer (Estrogen Receptor) diagnosis. With multiple funded projects led and executed, I actively contribute to national environmental health surveillance protocols, multi-center monitoring frameworks, and laboratory capacity building. My findings are published in leading peer-reviewed journals including Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Environmental Geochemistry and Health, Groundwater for Sustainable Development, Frontiers in Public Health, and BMC Nephrology—turning analytical chemistry into actionable evidence for preventive health policy.
