Ramasubramonian "Ram" Deivanayagam is a materials researcher with 7 years of cumulative experience in developing materials for rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion, sodium-ion, magnesium-ion), and evaluating their performance in lab scale. He received his dual degree of BS and MS in Physics from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His expertise includes synthesis and characterization of transition metal oxides and polymer composite materials for electrode/electrolyte applications, fabrication of electrodes, cell assembly in different formats, and design of a wide range of electrochemical experiments geared towards battery applications. He has led projects on multivalent-ion batteries and solid-state electrolytes during his Ph.D. and contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in reputed journals.
