Holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), where she also completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship on the functional genomics of stress-related genes in Caulobacter crescentus. In 2011, she conducted a senior postdoctoral project at the University of Florida, focusing on cellulosic ethanol production using bacteria. She is currently a professor and researcher at the Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Unioeste (Cascavel, Brazil), developing research focus in Industry, Health and Environment through Biochemistry and Molecular Biology approaches applied to model microorganisms (C. crescentus, E. coli, SARS-CoV-2, ESKAPEE bacteria) and Brazilian biodiversity isolates (filamentous fungi, medically and industrially relevant yeasts and oncogenic HPV).
