Dr. R. Venkatesan is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, India. He received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2015, and completed his M.E. and B.E. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University and Madurai Kamaraj University, respectively. With over 21 years of experience in teaching and research, he has established a strong research profile in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Medical Image Analysis, Explainable AI, Healthcare Informatics, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, and Intelligent Computing Systems. He has authored numerous publications in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals, IEEE international conferences, and edited book series. His research contributions span AI-enabled healthcare, computer vision, data analytics, wireless communication, and intelligent decision-support systems. He also holds Indian patents in IoT and medical image processing technologies and actively serves as a reviewer, session chair, and research supervisor for postgraduate and doctoral scholars. His current research focuses on trustworthy and explainable AI for healthcare applications, multimodal learning, and intelligent medical diagnosis.
