I am a researcher in the Department of Physiology and Aging and the Institute on Aging at the University of Florida College of Medicine. My research focuses on the biological mechanisms underlying physical function decline, skeletal muscle dysfunction, and impaired recovery in older adults. My emerging independent research program examines iron dysregulation and ferroptosis in aging skeletal muscle, together with inflammatory and biological factors that influence recovery after sepsis and surgery.
