Dr. Ruci Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Spatial Information Science (CSIS), The University of Tokyo, Japan. She received her Ph.D. in Life and Environmental Sciences from the University of Tsukuba. Her research lies at the intersection of urban climate science, geospatial analysis, and sustainable urban development, with a particular focus on understanding how urbanization and spatial configurations influence urban thermal environments. She integrates satellite remote sensing, geospatial modeling, machine learning, and three-dimensional urban morphology analysis to investigate urban heat dynamics, land-use transitions, and their implications for human heat exposure. Her current research aims to advance spatially explicit approaches for evaluating urban heat mitigation potential, assessing climate-resilient urban development scenarios, and supporting evidence-based urban planning and climate adaptation strategies.
