Ruijie Yang received his PhD degree from the University of Calgary, Canada, in 2026. Prior to this, he worked as a research assistant in Dr. Zhiyuan Zeng's group at the City University of Hong Kong, in 2020 and 2021, and received his M.S. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2019. His research interests include 2D materials, catalysis, and in situ characterizations. He has published 35 first/co-first author papers in journals including Nat Synth (2), Nat Protoc (2), Nat Rev Chem (2), Nat Commun (4), Adv Mater, Angew. He was selected for the 2025 Stanford List of the World’s Top 2% Scientists and received the Alberta Innovates Research Award and Distinguished Research Award (Canada).
