Biography

Dr Salah Alshehade is a highly accomplished pharmacist and researcher from Syria. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy in Jordan and has over 5 years of experience as a community and chain pharmacist. Salah then pursued a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Petra and a PhD in Pharmacology from Universiti Sains Malaysia, focusing his research on novel medicines against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Salah aspires to continue elucidating anti-NAFLD mechanisms and applying his expertise to benefit patient health. He has conducted research on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of progress of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD/MAFLD) using in vivo, in vitro, and computational approaches, including molecular docking and network pharmacology. He is also interested in the chemotherapeutic potential of drug delivery systems like hyaluronic acid-coated polymeric nanoparticles against cancer metastasis. Much of his research revolves around understanding the pathophysiology and potential therapeutic interventions for metabolic diseases like NAFLD. He has investigated the role of protein kinases in NAFLD progression and compared gene expression profiles of NAFLD animal models. His work encompasses various aspects of pharmaceutical sciences, including drug delivery (e.g., alginate-based encapsulation), pharmaceutical analysis (e.g., isolation of proteins from biological samples), and pharmacy practice.
