Salvatore Amoruso is a Full Professor of Experimental Physics of Matter at the Department of Physics “Ettore Pancini”, University of Naples “Federico II”. He received a PhD in Physics in 1998 with a dissertation on pulsed laser deposition of new materials. His main scientific interests are in the field of the interaction of short (nanosecond) and ultrashort (femtosecond) laser pulses with solid targets and, more recently, with the atmosphere for aerosol monitoring with the lidar technique. He has co-authored more than 180 scientific articles in international journals with peer-review and books.
