Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (1999), Master's degree (2002) and Doctorate (2007) in Zoology from the University of São Paulo. Experience in Zoology, with an emphasis on Arthropoda, working primarily on the following topics: systematics, population ecology, and reproductive biology of decapod crustaceans. Full Professor at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia and a former President of the Brazilian Carcinology Society (2013–2016).
