Suresh Kannan Balasingam is presently a Research Professor at Korea University (KU), Republic of Korea. Before taking up this position, he obtained Postdoctoral Research experience from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway and Konkuk University, Korea. Prof. Balasingam completed his PhD degree from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), Korea, in 2016. He received his MSc degree in Industrial Chemistry (specialization in electrochemistry) with a gold medal award from Alagappa University, India, in 2008 and a BSc degree in Chemistry from the Madura College (affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University), India, in 2006. He has also gained two years of research experience at the Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI-CSIR, Government of India) and one year of research experience at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) before joining UNIST. His current research interests mainly focus on the development of electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices, including batteries, supercapacitors, electrolyzers, dye-sensitized solar cells, photoelectrochemical water splitting, and solar fuels.
