Graduated from the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University, Russia, in 2002 followed by PhD in Chemistry from the same Department in 2005. In 2006 joined the Institute of New Carbon Materials and Technologies, Moscow, as a Juniour Research Fellow. From 2008 to 2017 held two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions at the University of La Laguna, Spain and University of Liverpool, UK. Currently holding the D2B Instrument Scientist position at the Institut Laue-Langevin, Grenoble, France.
