Biography

Muhamed Suceska is a professor at the University of Zagreb (2017-now). Before joining the University of Zagreb, he worked at Brodarski Institute, Zagreb (1993-2017) and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2009-2016). Research interest of Prof. Suceska includes thermal analysis and characterisation of explosives, reaction kinetics, thermal initiation of explosives, and combustion and detonation chemistry and physics, with the current focus on numerical modeling of thermal initiation and detonation of explosives. He developed a widely known thermochemical code EXPLO5 for the theoretical prediction of the performance of explosives, which is used today in more than 120 research laboratories worldwide. Prof. Suceska is a member of several scientific bodies and organisations, as well as scientific and organising committees of international conferences (NTREM, IPS, IPO, ESHP, CEEC-TAC, etc.).
