Prof. Tomasz Bajda is a professor at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. He started an assistant internship in 1995, then finished his Ph.D. in 2001 and did habilitation in 2012. During that time he gained experience during short-term stays abroad: 2005: 5 weeks—USA, Miami University, Oxford, research internship, research trip; 2009: 4 weeks—USA, Weber State University, Ogden, research internship, research trip. He has over 20 years of experience in applied geology and environmental engineering, in particular applied mineralogy and material engineering. His research focuses on the use of natural and synthetic materials in issues relating to environmental engineering, and on the recycling of waste materials from the mining, processing, and energy industries. Prof. Tomasz Bajda is the manager and coordinator of 10 research and development projects financed by NCBiR and FNP, and he has co-implemented another 10 R&D projects. He has completed over 100 contracts commissioned by industrial contractors. An author of nearly 200 publications, mostly of an application nature, including 80 publications from the so-called Philadelphia list - Hirsch index = 20, number of citations = 1050. He is the co-author of five patents.
