Biography

I am currently a Neuroscience PhD Candidate in the USF Morsani College of Medicine, completing my research as a visiting scientist at the CWRU School of Medicine. My research interests include mitochondrial dysfunction, autophagy, and GPCRs in neurodegenerative diseases. I mostly work with cultured cells and animal models such as mice and fruit flies. I also currently work as a freelance science writer for the Alzheimer's Association. In the summer of 2018 I volunteered in Chiang Rai, Thailand as part of an anti-human trafficking initiative with the USF Honors College. In 2017, I researched extracellular vesicles using C. elegans embryos in Würzburg, Germany as a DAAD RISE scholar.
