Thouria Bourhim, Ph.D., received her M.D. in biotechnology at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University Cadi Ayyad, during which she study the morphological and genetic diversity of natural Moroccan populations of Capparis spinosa to help ensure its long-term breeding success. She then undertook a Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia, University Cadi Ayyad, where she evaluated the effect of argan oil, and Argania spinosa by-product (leaves, fruits pulp and press-cake) on melanogenesis and elucidated the molecular mechanism underlying their effects. This work led her to win an award for one of the best young researcher on Argan in 2019, Morocco.
