Dr. Tianming Huang is a Professor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research centers on water cycling processes and water chemistry within the unsaturated zone, rivers, and groundwater. He employs geochemical and isotopic tracers to explore various topics, including groundwater recharge and water-rock interactions. Dr. Huang has co-authored over 120 papers that have been cited more than 3,700 times. He was listed in the Elsevier and Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists 2025. Currently, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Shale Gas and Geoengineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Department of Hydrogeology and Geothermal Resources at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has also conducted research as a visiting professor at the Department of Earth, Energy, and Environment, University of Calgary, Canada, focusing on tracing water-rock interactions following hydraulic fracturing using solute isotopic techniques. His expertise has led him the Secretary General of the China Commission on Tracers. He is an Associate Editor for "Journal of Hydrology" and "Frontiers in Earth Science" and participates on the editorial boards of "Journal of Groundwater Science and Engineering," "Water," and "Journal of Engineering Geology."
