Dr. Timothy J. Pegg has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Midwestern State University since 2022. He holds a degree in Biology and Chemistry from Frostburg State University (2009), a master’s degree in Botany from the University of Oklahoma (2016), and a Ph.D. in Botany from Miami University (2021). During August 2021-May 2022, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Marietta College. He specializes in botany, confocal light microscopy, electron microscopy, sample preparation, and plant morphology. His past and present work involves studying chemical and structural alterations to plant root cell wall ultra-structure in response to flooding stress. His research focuses on cell wall pectin and hemicellulose biochemistry as revealed through ultrastructural changes and fluorescence immunolabeling pattern variation.
