Biography

I am a French naturalist, entomologist and forest engineer, specialising in beetles (Coleoptera), particularly longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae). My research focuses on insect taxonomy, biogeography, ecology and conservation, with a strong interest in tropical biodiversity, especially in the Caribbean and French Guiana. I have conducted numerous field surveys and contributed to the discovery and description of new insect species. My scientific work also addresses forest biodiversity, species distribution, biodiversity inventories and monitoring methods, combining taxonomic expertise with broader ecological and conservation questions. Since 2020, I have been Director of PatriNat, a French biodiversity data and expertise centre bringing together the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (MNHN), CNRS and IRD. Through my research and professional activities, I aim to improve biodiversity knowledge and its application to nature conservation.
