Dr. Upendarrao Golla is a Researcher (Faculty) at the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He obtained Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISERB). He is currently investigating the biology of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) along with the pre-clinical evaluation of next-generation therapeutics for the effective treatment of highly heterogeneous AML. He uses different genomic approaches for validating the mechanisms of action of different therapeutics against AML alone or in combination with standard care therapy using various pre-clinical models (cell lines, primary patient samples, CDX/PDX mouse xenografts). Further research interests are ethnopharmacology, cell biology, molecular biology, pharmacology, toxicology, genomics, epigenetics, and non-coding RNAs.
