Due to the widespread use of sensors and sensor networks in the tasks of territory coverage, the relevant criteria are maximizing coverage and minimizing energy consumption. At the same time, the compliance of the network with these criteria is an urgent problem in the modern technological world. A modification of the method for constructing energy-efficient sensor networks is proposed by introducing an additional criterion for minimizing the number of sensors and limiting the number of sensors used, which allows reducing the energy consumption of sensor networks by 19 %. In the resulting optimization problem, the optimality criteria are the functions of minimizing the area of uncovered territory, the value of energy consumption, and the number of sensors. The optimum solution is formed by pairs of values of the coverage radius and the level of intersection of the coverage areas, which provide maximum coverage while minimizing energy consumption and the number of sensors used. To solve the problem, the parameter convolution method and the genetic algorithm were used. In the case of dynamic sensors, the problem is to find such a trajectory of the sensor that provides the maximum flyby of the territory with a minimum length. A grid algorithm is proposed to find the necessary trajectory. The presented algorithm consists in dividing the territory into nodes and estimating the value of the covered territory by the sensor in this node. After the formation of estimates, the search for a Hamiltonian path was used. The case of a multiply connected territory with the possibility of turning it into a simply connected one is considered. A scheme for finding the parameters of energy-efficient coverage of the territory using static and dynamic sensors is proposed.

In the modern technological world, there are several key factors in the construction of sensor networks. These include maximizing the coverage and minimizing the cost of the network. Like any information system, the sensor network must also meet the conditions of survivability. This is why the development of a method for assessing the survivability of the sensor network is also a key factor. The purpose of this study is to develop a method to establish the maximum coverage of the territory of the sensor network at minimum cost with the ability to assess the survivability of the network. Coverage maximization while minimizing the network’s cost is achieved by finding the optimal pair of values of the coverage radius and the level of the intersection of coverage areas. These values are found by solving a nonlinear multicriteria optimization problem with the use of the genetic algorithm. The designed method for estimating the survivability of sensor networks takes into account not only the importance of network components but also the bandwidth of the network elements. The result of using the proposed methods is a set of Pareto optimal pairs of values of the radii of coverage and the value of the intersection of the coverage areas. In the case of network survivability assessment, the result, in addition to the percentage assessment, is a set of vulnerable sensors and network communication channels. The proposed network survivability estimation method improved the estimation accuracy by 18% compared to methods used in previous works.
In this paper territory covering problem with minimizing energy consumption solving approach is presented. The solution of this problem is achieved by regulating sensors' coverage radiuses. According to this approach a mathematical model in multicriteria optimization problem form is formulated. Also algorithm that allows to build optimal sensor's trajectory that provides maximum coverage is presented. Information technology which is based on an introduced approach is described. In accordance with the presented results, a reduction in the energy consumption of the sensors is achieved with a simultaneous lifetime increase.
