Information security awareness (ISA) has become a vital issue, as security breaches often attributed to humans lead to losses for individuals and organizations. Information security (IS) education may be an effective strategy to improve students’ ISA; however, studies associated with the relationships between teaching effects and information security learning are few. This study adopted gamification practice and examined its effect on students’ ISA knowledge enhancement, attitude and intention of security compliance, and willingness for continuous IS education. This study also examined the gender difference in a gamified learning system. One hundred ten undergraduates participated in a quasi-experimental study. The results indicated that students within a gamified class performed better than students within a lecture-based instructional group. We found significant gamification effects on the three security focus areas of password management, Internet use, and information handling. Gamification did not significantly impact the attitude and intention of participants’ security compliance and students’ willingness for continuous IS learning. Gender difference in the effect of gamification on ISA knowledge enhancement was not observed as well. The research provides theoretical and practical contributions by incorporating gamification into IS learning and suggests gamification as an effective means to enhance students’ knowledge acquisition in an engaging, timely, economical, and repeated manner.

The consumption awareness of people in recent years has increased, with food safety becoming more and more important. While non-toxic products can be achieved by avoiding using too much antibiotics to control growth factors in a water environment, the measurement tools for dissolved oxygen on the market are very expensive and a great economic burden to fishermen. Thus, the purpose of this study is to design more economical measurement modules and algorithms for monitoring ponds. The research collected pond data through Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP), pH and temperature sensors, used regression analysis to infer Dissolved Oxygen (DO) by ORP and pH, and employed a real-time pond monitoring data map to figure out pond conditions. Compared with traditional equipment, findings show our approach reduces costs by about 20%, and increases production capacity and output value.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have evolved with the progress of science and technology in recent years. They combine high-tech, such as information and communications technology, mechanical power, remote control, and electric power storage. In the past, drones could be flown only via remote control, and the mounted cameras captured images from the air. Now, UAVs integrate new technologies such as 5G, AI, and IoT in Taiwan. They have a great application value in a high-altitude data acquisition, entertainment performances (such as night light shows and UAV shows with smoke), agriculture, and 3D modeling. UAVs are susceptible to the natural wind when spraying smoke into the air, which leads to a smoke track offset. This study developed an autocorrect system for UAV smoke tracing. An AI model was used to calculate smoke tube angle corrections so that smoke tube angles could be immediately corrected when smoke is sprayed. This led to smoke tracks being consistent with flight tracks.

This study addresses the limited research on IT-enabled support for internal staffing by employing a design science research (DSR) methodology to design, develop, and evaluate a mobile-based staffing and task assignment management system (M-STAMS). Tailored to a public university's human resource operations, the artifact leverages cloud and mobile technologies to enhance staff-task matching, operational efficiency, and coordination. A survey of 180 users was conducted using an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that incorporates user habits as an external factor to assess both technical effectiveness and user acceptance. The results demonstrate that perceived ease of use, usefulness, and habitual technology behavior significantly influence adoption intentions. The findings contribute to digital HRM research by validating the role of mobile technologies in staffing effectiveness and emphasizing the value of DSR in bridging the gap between information systems and human resource specialists to develop socio-technical HR solutions tailored to organizational needs and constraints.
