Dr. Weixuan Xu received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Cornell University and currently serves as a Senior Scientist at Factorial Energy, a company specializing in solid-state battery technology. Her research focuses on electrocatalysis and nanostructured materials for energy conversion and storage systems, including alkaline anion-exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs), lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries, and lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). She has contributed to the development of MOF-derived catalysts, bimetallic alloys, and (dual-site) single-atom catalysts for alkaline fuel cells. Dr. Xu has extensive expertise in in-situ/operando characterization techniques, such as operando XAS, operando XRD and operando confocal Raman microscopy, to probe the structural and mechanistic evolution of catalysts under working conditions in both fuel cells and Li–S batteries. Her work has been published in high-impact journals such as Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), Science Advances, and others.
