Stanislaw F. Wnuk received a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1983 from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship training at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and Brigham, Young University, Provo, Utah, in bioorganic chemistry of nucleosides under the supervision of Professor Morris J. Robins. In 1997, he joined Florida International University in Miami and served as the Chair of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department; he currently works as the Associate Dean for Graduate Education. He received his D.Sc. degree (habilitation) from Adam Mickiewicz University in 1995 and an Honorary Professorship in Chemistry was bestowed upon him by the President of Polish Republic in 2007. His research interests include organic chemistry of carbohydrates and nucleosides with applications in biochemistry and anticancer and antiviral medicines. Another area of his research focuses on fluorinations and cross-coupling methodologies. He is also the author of over one hundred seventy publications, ten book chapters, and six patents.
