Biography

My research seeks to elucidate the geomorphic and sedimentary processes of Earth surface and to evaluate the stratigraphic signatures of climate, sea level, tectonics, and deep Earth processes. In particular, my research focuses on (1) coupling between surface processes, lithospheric deformation, and deep mantle processes; (2) sedimentary basin evolution within different tectonic frameworks; (3) surface process (or landscape evolution) modeling and stratigraphic forward modeling; and (4) dynamics and morphology of fluvial and coastal processes. My expertise lies at the interface between sedimentary geology, stratigraphy, geomorphology, and geodynamics. After joining University of Texas at Austin in March 2023, I am collaborating with STARR, QCL, and AGL working on various projects targeting on salt tectonic basins and fluvio-deltaic stratigraphic modeling.
