Ying Zhao has Ph.D. in Soil Science from University of Kiel, Germany in 2008. In 2009, he joined Northwest A&F University in China as an associate professor. In 2014, he joined the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a researcher in the Desert Environment Room. Since 2017, he has been a professor of Resource and Environmental Engineering, Ludong University, Yantai, China. He is broadly interested in the area of soil hydrological processes and their mechanisms. His current research lies at application of frozen soil hydrological process model, utilization of water and soil resources, and temporal and spatial transformation of soil moisture. He is working on the water resource allocation and water environment risk assessment under different farming systems and climate change conditions.
