Uranium, a naturally occurring element, is predominantly recognized for its role as fuel in both civilian and military energy sectors. Concerns have been raised regarding the adverse environmental impacts and health risks associated with uranium mining due to the exposure it causes. Such exposure leads to systemic toxicity, affecting pulmonary, hepatic, renal, reproductive, neurological, and bone health. This review identifies significant research gaps regarding detoxification methods for uranium contamination and recommends further advancements, including genetic modification and exploration of plant compounds. A comprehensive review of published research materials from diverse sources of uranium, including various treatments and hazardous impacts on the human body, was conducted. Additionally, a PRISMA analysis was performed in this study. This review emphasizes the importance of collaboration and the formulation of research-informed regulations to effectively safeguard vulnerable communities from the consequences of contamination. Public discourse often emphasizes the significance of radiotoxicity; however, the non-radioactive chemotoxicity of uranium has been identified as a significant risk factor for environmental exposures, contingent upon species, enrichment, and exposure route. Given these serious health consequences, several methods are being investigated to ameliorate uranium toxicity. In response to these concerns, several techniques, such as phytomedicinal treatments, biochemical approaches, and chelation therapy, have been investigated to minimize the adverse effects of uranium exposure in the human body.

The main purposes of this study are to investigate the potential of nanotechnology in revolutionizing pest management through the development of nanopesticides and to address the environmental and health concerns associated with traditional agrochemicals and nanopesticides. This study utilizes a review methodology to examine the current state of nanotechnology applications in pest management, focusing on the formulation, advantages, and challenges of nanopesticides. It also explores the adverse environmental and medical effects resulting from the use of conventional pesticides and the potential benefits of nanostructures in pesticide delivery. The results highlight the potential of nanotechnology platforms in enhancing the effectiveness of pesticides through improved bioavailability and targeted delivery mechanisms. Nanopesticides offer advantages over traditional agrochemicals by minimizing environmental damage and health risks associated with leaching, evaporation, and unintended exposure. However, the rapid development of synthetic nanoparticles poses new challenges related to environmental pollution and waste management. Nanotechnology presents promising opportunities for sustainable pest management by addressing the limitations of traditional agrochemicals. The formulation of nanoscale pesticides offers enhanced efficacy and reduced environmental impact. However, careful consideration of the potential adverse effects and responsible waste management strategies are necessary to ensure the safe and sustainable implementation of nanopesticides in agriculture.

Biotechnology has become a revolutionary tool for wildlife conservation, offering novel approaches to counter the unprecedented challenges facing biodiversity today. This paper examines the application of biotechnology, specifically genetic engineering, cloning, and ecosystem restoration, to conserve endangered species and restore degraded ecosystems. Biotechnology, through genetic engineering, enables researchers to transfer disease resistance and reproductive enhancement into vulnerable species, allowing them to survive against global threats such as chytridiomycosis in amphibians. Additionally, it addresses inbreeding and genetic bottlenecks by reintroducing genetic diversity through gene editing and transgenic methods. Cloning, primarily through the use of SCNT, holds promise for the revival of extinct species and the preservation of genetic information. A prime example of the latter is the case of the Pyrenean ibex, which, despite its short-lived success, highlighted the promise that such technology holds and the ethical questions it raises. In addition to species-specific approaches, biotechnology plays a crucial role in restoring the ecosystem. Through genetic modification, stress-resistant plant varieties and beneficial microbial inoculants are engineered to restore degraded habitats, enhance soil fertility, and enable plants to withstand environmental stressors such as drought and salinity. These efforts support the recovery of degraded native ecosystems that have been impacted by urban development, deforestation, and global warming. While acknowledging the limitations and ethical issues, the article emphasises the importance that biotechnology plays as a complement rather than a replacement for conventional methods. Ultimately, by harnessing the power of science, conservation specialists can more effectively counteract biodiversity loss, making ecosystems healthier and the future more sustainable for wildlife.
