Dr. Zeeshan Tariq is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Shengzhou Innovation Research Institute, China. He received his Ph.D. in Textile Science and Engineering from Soochow University, where he focused on advanced functional textiles and sustainable finishing technologies. His research interests include bio-based functional materials, microencapsulation, phase change materials (PCMs), radiative cooling textiles, hybrid thermal management systems, and smart wearable textiles.
His current work centers on developing silk fibroin-based microencapsulation platforms for advanced thermal management textiles by integrating latent heat storage with passive radiative cooling. He aims to design environmentally friendly and scalable textile finishing technologies using natural biomaterials to enhance thermal comfort, durability, and energy efficiency. He has extensive experience in material preparation and characterization using techniques such as SEM, FTIR, XRD, DSC, UV–Vis–NIR spectroscopy, and thermal imaging.
Dr. Tariq has published several SCI-indexed articles in functional textiles and biomaterials and actively collaborates internationally. He also serves as a reviewer for journals including Sustainability, Materials, Textiles, and the Journal of Design and Textiles. His long-term goal is to develop sustainable, high-performance textiles for thermal management, protective clothing, and smart wearable applications.
