Dr. Rui Zhao is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Astronautics, Harbin Institute of Technology. He received his B.Eng. in Engineering Mechanics, M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, and Ph.D. in Dynamics and Control from Harbin Institute of Technology, and was a visiting scholar in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan.
His research interests include structural dynamics and aeroelasticity of aircraft, multi-physics coupled dynamics of advanced composite structures, computational structural dynamics, and intelligent scientific computing. He has led or participated in several research projects, including projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Dr. Zhao has published more than 70 SCI-indexed papers in international journals such as International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, Composite Structures, Thin-Walled Structures, and Energy Conversion and Management. He holds 7 authorized national invention patents and 16 software copyrights. His research outcomes have been applied to the development of China’s new-generation launch vehicles.
He serves as Secretary-General of the Modal Analysis and Testing Committee of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering, Youth Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Dynamics and Control, and reviewer for several international journals.
