Satya Kumar Avula, a Research Assistant Professor in organic chemistry, Natural & Medical Sciences Research Center (NMSRC), University of Nizwa (Oman) carried out his research work (Supervisor: Dr. Biswanath Das) in Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT, CSIR Lab), Hyderabad, India and received his Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUHIICT), India in 2012. He then moved to the University of Kwa- Zulu Natal (UKZN), Durban, South Africa collaborated with Uppsala University, Sweden as a Postdoctoral Researcher (2012–2013) in the group of Prof. Anderson. He has been involved in chemical transformations and total stereoselective synthesis of natural products, Dr. Kumar has published 35 articles in a peer reviewed international journals. He has presented his research work at various national and international conferences.
