Prof. Dr. Laura Vanoli obtained her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Cassino and currently serves as a full professor in the Department of Engineering at Parthenope University of Naples. From November 1999 to October 2003 she was an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Cassino. From November 2003 to January 2005, she worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Food Science of the University of Naples Federico II. In October 2003, she won the competitive exam to become an associate professor of thermal sciences. From January 2005 to October 2008, she worked as an associate professor in the Department of Food Science of the University of Naples Federico II. Her research interests cover thermodynamic and thermo-economic analysis of advanced energy systems, energy saving, renewable energy sources, thermo-fluid-dynamic measurement, and heat and mass transfer through porous media. She has also served as a referee for the International Journal of Thermodynamics, Journal of Fuel Cell Science and Technology, Waste Management, Energy and Buildings, Journal of Thermodynamics, Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science.
