The recent developments in deep learning techniques evolved to new heights in various domains and applications. The recognition, translation, and video generation of Sign Language (SL) still face huge challenges from the development perspective. Although numerous advancements have been made in earlier approaches, the model performance still lacks recognition accuracy and visual quality. In this paper, we introduce novel approaches for developing the complete framework for handling SL recognition, translation, and production tasks in real-time cases. To achieve higher recognition accuracy, we use the MediaPipe library and a hybrid Convolutional Neural Network + Bi-directional Long Short Term Memory (CNN + Bi-LSTM) model for pose details extraction and text generation. On the other hand, the production of sign gesture videos for given spoken sentences is implemented using a hybrid Neural Machine Translation (NMT) + MediaPipe + Dynamic Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) model. The proposed model addresses the various complexities present in the existing approaches and achieves above 95% classification accuracy. In addition to that, the model performance is tested in various phases of development, and the evaluation metrics show noticeable improvements in our model. The model has been experimented with using different multilingual benchmark sign corpus and produces greater results in terms of recognition accuracy and visual quality. The proposed model has secured a 38.06 average Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) score, remarkable human evaluation scores, 3.46 average Fréchet Inception Distance to videos (FID2vid) score, 0.921 average Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM) values, 8.4 average Inception Score, 29.73 average Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) score, 14.06 average Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) score, and an average 0.715 Temporal Consistency Metric (TCM) Score which is evidence of the proposed work.

We have analyzed 127 publications for this review paper, which discuss applications of Reinforcement Learning (RL) in marketing, robotics, gaming, automated cars, natural language processing (NLP), internet of things security, recommendation systems, finance, and energy management. The optimization of energy use is critical in today’s environment. We mainly focus on the RL application for energy management. Traditional rule-based systems have a set of predefined rules. As a result, they may become rigid and unable to adjust to changing situations or unforeseen events. RL can overcome these drawbacks. RL learns by exploring the environment randomly and based on experience, it continues to expand its knowledge. Many researchers are working on RL-based energy management systems (EMS). RL is utilized in energy applications such as optimizing energy use in smart buildings, hybrid automobiles, smart grids, and managing renewable energy resources. RL-based energy management in renewable energy contributes to achieving net zero carbon emissions and a sustainable environment. In the context of energy management technology, RL can be utilized to optimize the regulation of energy systems, such as building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, to reduce energy consumption while maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. EMS can be accomplished by teaching an RL agent to make judgments based on sensor data, such as temperature and occupancy, to modify the HVAC system settings. RL has proven beneficial in lowering energy usage in buildings and is an active research area in smart buildings. RL can be used to optimize energy management in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) by learning an optimal control policy to maximize battery life and fuel efficiency. RL has acquired a remarkable position in robotics, automated cars, and gaming applications. The majority of security-related applications operate in a simulated environment. The RL-based recommender systems provide good suggestions accuracy and diversity. This article assists the novice in comprehending the foundations of reinforcement learning and its applications.

Cervical cancer is one of the common cancers among women and it causes significant mortality in many developing countries. Diagnosis of cervical lesions is done using pap smear test or visual inspection using acetic acid (staining). Digital colposcopy, an inexpensive methodology, provides painless and efficient screening results. Therefore, automating cervical cancer screening using colposcopy images will be highly useful in saving many lives. Nowadays, many automation techniques using computer vision and machine learning in cervical screening gained attention, paving the way for diagnosing cervical cancer. However, most of the methods rely entirely on the annotation of cervical spotting and segmentation. This paper aims to introduce the Faster Small-Object Detection Neural Networks (FSOD-GAN) to address the cervical screening and diagnosis of cervical cancer and the type of cancer using digital colposcopy images. The proposed approach automatically detects the cervical spot using Faster Region-Based Convolutional Neural Network (FR-CNN) and performs the hierarchical multiclass classification of three types of cervical cancer lesions. Experimentation was done with colposcopy data collected from available open sources consisting of 1,993 patients with three cervical categories, and the proposed approach shows 99% accuracy in diagnosing the stages of cervical cancer.

The issue of animal attacks is increasingly concerning for rural populations and forestry workers. To track the movement of wild animals, surveillance cameras and drones are often employed. However, an efficient model is required to detect the animal type, monitor its locomotion and provide its location information. Alert messages can then be sent to ensure the safety of people and foresters. While computer vision and machine learning-based approaches are frequently used for animal detection, they are often expensive and complex, making it difficult to achieve satisfactory results. This paper presents a Hybrid Visual Geometry Group (VGG)-19+ Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) network to detect animals and generate alerts based on their activity. These alerts are sent to the local forest office as a Short Message Service (SMS) to allow for immediate response. The proposed model exhibits great improvements in model performance, with an average classification accuracy of 98%, a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 77.2%, and a Frame Per Second (FPS) of 170. The model was tested both qualitatively and quantitatively using 40,000 images from three different benchmark datasets with 25 classes and achieved a mean accuracy and precision of above 98%. This model is a reliable solution for providing accurate animal-based information and protecting human lives.

The speech and hearing-impaired community use sign language as the primary means of communication. It is quite challenging for the general population to interpret or learn sign language completely. A sign language recognition system must be designed and developed to address this communication barrier. Most current sign language recognition systems rely on wearable sensors, keeping the recognition system unaffordable for most individuals. Moreover, the existing vision-based sign recognition frameworks do not consider all of the spatial and temporal information required for accurate recognition. A novel vison-based hybrid deep neural net methodology is proposed in this study for recognizing Indian and Russian sign gestures. The proposed framework is aimed to establish a single framework for tracking and extracting multi-semantic properties, such as non-manual components and manual co-articulations. Furthermore, spatial feature extraction from the sign gestures is deployed using a 3D deep neural net with atrous convolutions. The temporal and sequential feature extraction is carried out by employing attention-based Bi-LSTM. In addition, the distinguished abstract feature extraction is done using the modified autoencoders. The discriminative feature extraction for differentiating the sign gestures from unwanted transition gestures is done by leveraging the hybrid attention module. The experimentation of the proposed model has been carried out on the novel multi-signer Indo-Russian sign language dataset. The proposed sign language recognition framework with hybrid neural net yields better results than other state-of-the-art frameworks.
