Dr. Elisabetta Tosti

Elisabetta Tosti graduated with Laude in 1977 in Biology at the University of Napoli, “Federico II”. She has been a Senior Scientist and group leader for Biology of Reproduction and Marine Ecotoxicology in the BEOM Department of the Stazione Zoologica “Anton Dohrn” up to January 2021. She received the national scientific qualification for full professor in the sector Bio06. Member of the Editorial Board of the ISI journal “Marine Drugs”; Founder of the Italian Society on Embryology, Reproduction and Research (SIERR). Invited speaker at numerous congresses, conferences, and symposia. Contract professor at the University of Medicine, Naples. Coordinator and lecturer at Italian and international Masters and Summer Schools. Tutor, supervisor, and director of studies of numerous degree, Ph.D., and post-doc students. Reviewer for Italian ministry and international grant assignment. She is the author of more than 100 papers and reviews on international ISI journals, book and encyclopedia chapters, one book on fertilization, and guest editor of numerous special issues on ISI journals. H-index = 30, 10-index = 74, orcid.org/0000-0002-3157-8628. E. Tosti, is a biologist of reproduction of marine organisms with expertise on gamete physiology, mechanism of maturation, activation, fertilization, and early development with a specific focus on the role of ion channels.
