Data-driven innovations (DDI) have significantly impacted firms’ operations thanks to the massive exploitation of huge data. However, to leverage big data and achieve supply chain innovation, a variety of complementary resources are necessary. In this study, we hypothesise that supply chain innovation (SCI) is dependent on firms’ big data analytics capabilities (BAC). Furthermore, we propose that this relation is mediated by two crucial capabilities of agility and adaptability that enable firms to efficiently meet the challenges of supply chain ambidexterity. Finally, we also test the moderating role of technology uncertainty in our research model. We collected data from 386 manufacturing firms in Pakistan and tested our model using structural equation modelling. The results confirmed our initial hypotheses that agility and adaptability both mediated our baseline relationship of BAC and big data innovation in supply chains. We further found support for the moderating role of technology uncertainty. Furthermore, technology uncertainty moderates the relationship between BAC and SCI. This study extends the current literature on digital analytics capabilities and innovation along the supply chain. Practically, our research suggests that investment in big data can result in affirmative consequences, if firms cultivate capabilities to encounter supply chain ambidexterity through agility and adaptability. Accordingly, we suggest that managers belonging to manufacturing firms need to build up these internal capabilities and to monitor and assess technology uncertainty in the environment.

Drawing on dynamic capabilities and the resource-based view, we propose a conceptual model that encompasses big data analytics capabilities (BDAC), digital platform capabilities and network capabilities, supply chain innovation, and firm performance. We use the structural equation modeling to empirically validate this model on the time-lagged data of 221 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the manufacturing sectors. The empirical results of our data analysis showed that BDAC significantly improved platform and networking capabilities. BDAC also improved supply chain innovation and thus financial performance. Our data indicated that networking capabilities mediated the relationships of both (a) BDAC-supply chain innovation and (b) BDAC-financial performance. Meanwhile, digital platforms mediated only the BDAC-supply chain innovation relationship. The outcomes of sequential mediation confirmed the role of both digital platform and network capabilities and supply chain innovation in the BDAC-firm performance link. Our results provide theoretical implications to operations management and offer practical insights for managers working in manufacturing MSMEs.

China's growing workforce of young employees has propelled its economy towards becoming a global power. However, with evolving workplace difficulties and uncertainties, the rate of employee turnover is also rising, which affects every department in companies, in addition to impacting costs and finances. This study explored the influences of five core job characteristics, work relationships, and work conditions on young Chinese employees' retention intentions, mediated by employee well-being. Using a quantitative cross-sectional approach, 804 responses were obtained from young Chinese workers. We also employed partial least squares structural equation modeling to analyze and forecast the extent of the impact of this study's independent variables. The empirical findings revealed that job autonomy, skill variety, task significance, feedback, work relationships, and work conditions indirectly influenced the retention intentions of young workers in China, with employee well-being acting as a mediator. However, the impact of task identity on employee well-being and retention intentions was insignificant. Our study contributes to the literature on employee retention intentions by demonstrating the importance of young employees' perceptions of work design-related aspects and extending the application of the job characteristics model.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has generated unprecedented disruption in the tourism sector, requiring innovative solutions to reshape future work for sustainability. Despite the several benefits of tourism and innovation, studies examining the interlinkages among tourism, pandemic uncertainty, and innovations for sustainability are rare. To fill this gap, this paper investigates the impact of the pandemic on tourism arrivals, and the effects of tourism arrivals and pandemic impacts on the sustainable development of France. The paper further considers the innovation influences on pandemic uncertainty to consider it key for the control of the pandemic. Autoregressive distributed lag results based on 25 years of historical data show that the immediate effects of pandemic discussion on tourism arrivals are insignificant. However, in the long run, such effects become significantly negative, revealing that a rise in pandemic discussion reduces tourism arrivals in France. We find that tourism arrivals and pandemic discussions have positive significant effects on the sustainability of France. The tourism arrivals and pandemic discussion interaction results reveal that tourists who are aware of the pandemic significantly contribute to sustainability. Significant evidence shows that a rise in innovation helps to reduce pandemic uncertainty. However, innovation's short-term effects are more prominent compared with the long-term effects, indicating that the pandemic can be countered in the short run with the help of innovative solutions. Thus, relying on innovation, especially innovations related to COVID-19 will reduce the pandemic's risk. Our results were robust to various econometric methodologies. We have drawn policy implications to focus on tourism development and constant innovations for sustainable recovery.

Change management plays a key role in enhancing sustainable organizational performance in a dynamic global business environment. This study investigates the dimensions of change management (i.e., readiness of change, climate for change, and change processes) in boosting the sustainable performance of higher education institutions (HEIs) through knowledge management and transformational leaderships as mediators. This study employed an explanatory, quantitative, and cross-sectional approach for collecting data from the top management of private HEIs in Malaysia. Structural equation modeling using SmartPLS 4.0 is carried out for data analysis. We find that two dimensions of change management (i.e., climate for change and change processes) have a significantly positive impact on knowledge management, and only climate for change has a significantly positive relation with transformational leadership. The results highlighted that knowledge management mediate between climate for change and change processes and HEI sustainable performance. However, transformational leadership acts as a mediator between the climate for change and HEIs’ sustainable performance. No moderating effect of green teams was found between the mediators and HEI sustainable performance. The research findings have several implications for adopting the change management elements for the enhanced sustainable performance of HEIs and guiding the top management of HEIs, policymakers, and related governmental institutes.

The main objective of this study is to identify the factors that affect consumers’ intention to use AR for their online buying context. This study integrated three theories with additional constructs of perceived enjoyment and personal innovativeness. Data was collected through a personal-administered questionnaire from 265 respondents. In this study, PLS based Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data. The study results show that all the estimated relationships were found significant and positive except the relationship between social identity and attitude, social identity and perceived usefulness, and personal innovativeness and perceived ease of use. Attitude significantly and positively mediates the association between two constructs of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and behavioral intention. The findings of this study also reveal that self-efficacy significantly moderates the association between attitude and behavioral intention. This study validated a new model developed for examining the intention to use augmented reality in the online buying context. Here, a model is developed by integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Social Identity Theory, and Self-identity Theory with additional constructs of perceived enjoyment and personal innovativeness. This study will contribute to the knowledge extension of using augmented reality in the online buying context.
