Dr. William Newson is a researcher at the Department of Plant Breeding in the Plant Product Quality group of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). He completed his undergraduate and Masters degrees in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Queen's University in Canada and his PhD studies in Plant Product Quality at SLU. He has published over 30 papers and patents. His interests include protein extraction recovery and behaviour, the use or residual and underutilized streams from agriculture, and protein-based materials.
