Dr. Lauve Rachel Tchokouaha Yamthe is a biologist specializing in field research in drug discovery. Dr Tchokouaha studied biochemistry at the Faculty of Science of the University of Douala and at the University of Yaoundé 1, Cameroon. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Yaoundé 1, Cameroon, working on the antiplasmodial and antileishmanial activities of Annona species. She performed a postdoctoral study at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research at the University of Ghana, Ghana, studying the potency of marine algae extracts and isolated compounds against Leishmania donovani and Leishmania major. Currently, Dr. Tchokouaha is a Senior Research Scientist at IMPM, Cameroon. Her main research activities focus on traditional medicinal plants and bioassay-guided research strategies for their antiprotozoal, antibacterial, antimycobacterial, and cytotoxic properties, as well as their constituents.
