My research field is nutrient cycling in sustainable agricultural systems, with a particular focus on phosphorus and micronutrients. Topics of interest include improving the nutrient use efficiency of plant species; improving the micronutrient content of pasture species for livestock nutrition; and quantifying and reducing losses of nutrients from soil to watercourses. My research can be applied, in order to provide recommendations for farmers and land managers, and more fundamental, to understand for instance how root traits influence plant acquisition of nutrients.
