Hugo Enrique Júnez-Ferreira
Professor-Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ) in México. Director of the Water Science and Technology Bachelor Program and collaborator in the Master and Ph.D. Engineering Programs (Water resources). His educational background is a Bachelor in Civil Engineering. Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (2002). Master's and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics). Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM (2005 and 2011, respectively). With more than 19 years participating in hydrogeological studies for institutions related to water administration and planning mining activities, he has participated at UAZ since 2005. His research interests are in hydrogeology, such as modeling, geostatistical applications, and the design of groundwater monitoring networks. Awards: best master's thesis, Mexican Geophysical Union (2005), and best doctoral thesis, Mexican Association of Hydraulics (2012). He has been distinguished as a member of the National System of Researchers since 2012 and participated with the International Association of Hydrogeologists and Interpore.
