Foot plantar pressure is the pressure field that acts between the foot and the support surface during everyday locomotor activities. Information derived from such pressure measures is important in gait and posture research for diagnosing lower limb problems, footwear design, sport biomechanics, injury prevention and other applications. This paper reviews foot plantar sensors characteristics as reported in the literature in addition to foot plantar pressure measurement systems applied to a variety of research problems. Strengths and limitations of current systems are discussed and a wireless foot plantar pressure system is proposed suitable for measuring high pressure distributions under the foot with high accuracy and reliability. The novel system is based on highly linear pressure sensors with no hysteresis.
Acoustics have a wide range of uses, from noise-cancelling to ultrasonic imaging. There has been a surge in interest in developing acoustic-based approaches for biological and biomedical applications in the last decade. This review focused on the application of surface acoustic waves (SAW) based on interdigital transducers (IDT) for live-cell investigations, such as cell manipulation, cell separation, cell seeding, cell migration, cell characteristics, and cell behaviours. The approach is also known as acoustofluidic, because the SAW device is coupled with a microfluidic system that contains live cells. This article provides an overview of several forms of IDT of SAW devices on recently used cells. Conclusively, a brief viewpoint and overview of the future application of SAW techniques in live-cell investigations were presented.
Gait analysis is a very important procedure in assessing and improving many quality of life indicators. In sports, gait analysis can be used to improve athlete's performance and injury prevention. This paper presents the development of ultrasonic system in wearable instrumented shoes for gait analysis measurement in sport application. This paper begins with introduce to the requirement in the related literature. The explanation on the system configuration follows next that describes sensor properties and time of flight concept. Next, is a section that explains the experimental setup using the proposed instrumentation which is then followed by the result section. Finally, the planned future works shares in this paper.

Alpha Pinene is a type of terpene hydrocarbons commonly emitted in substantial amounts by plants such as mango. Using Interdigitated Electrode (IDE) structure, a sensor for detecting Alpha Pinene volatile by using molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) was fabricated. The MIP membrane contained methacrylic acid, which formed specific cavities originated by target molecule. The use of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) as a substrate would allow a “low cost and flexible”sensor implementations. The IDE MIP sensor is capable to detect Alpha Pinene contained gas. The sensor characteristics were strongly influenced by the composition ratio of cross-linker, functional monomer and template molecule. The remained molecule on MIP can be removed by immersing thus the sensor can be used repeatedly. By determining Alpha Pinene volatile released during pre-matured until matured period, one could use this as a data point as potential non destructive solution to discriminate the mango ripeness stage hence improving the quality of harvest
