The size of power grids and a complex technological infrastructure with higher levels of automation, connectivity, and remote access make it necessary to be able to detect anomalies of various kinds using optimal and intelligent methods. This paper is a review of studies related to the detection of anomalies in smart grids using AI. Digital repositories were explored considering publications between the years 2011 and 2023. Iterative searches were carried out to consider studies with different approaches, propose experiments, and help identify the most applied methods. Seven objects of study related to anomalies in SG were identified: attacks on data integrity, unusual measurements and consumptions, intrusions, network infrastructure, electrical data, identification of cyber-attacks, and use of detection devices. The issues relating to cybersecurity prove to be widely studied, especially to prevent intrusions, fraud, data falsification, and uncontrolled changes in the network model. There is a clear trend towards the conformation of anomaly detection frameworks or hybrid solutions. Machine learning, regression, decision trees, deep learning, support vector machines, and neural networks are widely used. Other proposals are presented in novel forms, such as federated learning, hyperdimensional computing, and graph-based methods. More solutions are needed that do not depend on a lot of data or knowledge of the network model. The use of AI to solve SG problems is generating an evolution towards what could be called next-generation smart grids. At the end of this document is a list of acronyms and terminology.

With the advent of the World Wide Web, there are numerous online platforms that generate huge amounts of textual material, including social networks, online blogs, magazines, etc. This textual content contains useful information that can be used to advance humanity. Text summarization has been a significant area of research in natural language processing (NLP). With the expansion of the internet, the amount of data in the world has exploded. Large volumes of data make locating the required and best information time-consuming. It is impractical to manually summarize petabytes of data; hence, computerized text summarization is rising in popularity. This study presents a comprehensive overview of the current status of text summarizing approaches, techniques, standard datasets, assessment criteria, and future research directions. The summarizing approaches are assessed based on several characteristics, including approach-based, document-number-based, Summarization domain-based, document-language-based, output summary nature, etc. This study concludes with a discussion of many obstacles and research opportunities linked to text summarizing research that may be relevant for future researchers in this field.

In the present scenario, Automatic Text Summarization (ATS) is in great demand to address the ever-growing volume of text data available online to discover relevant information faster. In this research, the ATS methodology is proposed for the Hindi language using Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) over the health corpus, available in the Kaggle dataset. The methodology comprises five phases: preprocessing, feature extraction, processing, sentence ranking, and summary generation. Rigorous experimentation on varied feature sets is performed where distinguishing features, namely- sentence similarity and named entity features are combined with others for computing the evaluation metrics. The top 14 feature combinations are evaluated through Recall-Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation (ROUGE) measure. RCGA computes appropriate feature weights through strings of features, chromosomes selection, and reproduction operators: Simulating Binary Crossover and Polynomial Mutation. To extract the highest scored sentences as the corpus summary, different compression rates are tested. In comparison with existing summarization tools, the ATS extractive method gives a summary reduction of 65%.

The exponential evolution of technology and the growth of the elderly population are two phenomena that will inevitably interact with increasing frequency in the future. This paper analyses scientific literature as a means of furthering progress in sustainable technology for senior living. We carried out a bibliometric analysis of papers published in this area and compiled by the Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus, examining the main participants and advances in the field from 2000 to the first quarter of 2021. The study describes some interesting research projects addressing three different aspects of older adults’ daily lives—health, daily activities and wellbeing—and policies to promote healthy aging and improve the sustainability of the healthcare system. It also looks at lines of research into transversal characteristics of technology. Our analysis showed that publications mentioning sustainability technologies for older adults have been growing progressively since the 2000s, but that the big increase in the number of research works in this area took place during the period 2016–2021. These more recent works show a tendency to study those factors that improve healthy aging, ensure the social inclusion of the elderly through technology and prolong the time in which they can live independent lives thanks to smart environments. Current research gaps in the literature are also discussed.
