Purpose The main aim of this study was to analyze and establish the state of the question about entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship in sport, identify the role of innovation in both of them, as well as to determine the latest study trends and detect possible research niches. Design/methodology/approach A systematic review of the Web of Science, Scopus, PsycINFO, ERIC, SPORTDiscus and Dialnet databases was performed. The analysis of the selected texts allowed categorizing the entrepreneurship articles into subthemes: precursors of entrepreneurship, intention/orientation of entrepreneurship, different perspectives of entrepreneurship in sport and social entrepreneurship in sport. Of the 49 texts included in the review, only seven articles dealt with intrapreneurship, and they could not be classified into subtopics because the studies are scarce, diverse and with disparate themes. Findings The main findings show deficiencies in research on precursors/antecedents of entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial behavior, especially in relation to innovation, the importance of the political perspective on entrepreneurship in sport and formulation of behavior training programs for intrapreneurs. Originality/value This paper provides valuable and global information about entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship in sport, of which there were scattered or grouped data in some reviews.

The present study evaluates the influence of spirituality/religiosity (S/R) on the coping strategies used by people with cancer (breast and prostate) compared with those without cancer, in a sample of 445 Spanish participants (160 with cancer and 285 without). Significant interactions between the presence of cancer and S/R are observed in the use of coping strategies such as religion, humor and disconnection. Spirituality as a predictor variable through the use of religion as a strategy, increased the explanatory capacity of age by 58.9% (β = .794) while praying/talking to God predicts the use of this strategy with a β = .383. In people with cancer, active coping was predicted by spirituality (β = .327). However, spirituality was a negative predictor of maladaptive coping, with a beta coefficient equal to .383. The data suggest that patients’ beliefs need to be considered by health care professionals when designing interventions.

The objective of this study was to examine the role of spatial orientation in the performance of sport sailors. Participants were 30 elite male sailors from classes 420, Laser, Windsurfing RS:X and Windsurfing Techno, grouped into two categories: Monohull (18 sailors) and Windsurfing (12 sailors). Ages ranged between 13 and 18 years old (M = 15.7, SD = 1.05). To assess spatial orientation, the Perspective Taking/Spatial Orientation Test was used, and performance was inferred from the final classification at the regatta. In addition, the influence of experience and age on the performance was analyzed. The results show that in the Monohull group, the performance is determined by the spatial orientation (18% of the explained variance), while in the Windsurfing group, the variables that are related to performance are sailing experience and age (60% of the explained variance). Spatial orientation seems to be the more important variable for performance in the Monohull group, while in classes belonging to the Windsurfing group, this variable does not seem to be decisive for obtaining good results in the regatta.

Attitudes towards sport psychology may explain why, or why not, athletes use psychological services. To measure these attitudes, Martin, Kellmann, Lavallee, and Page (2002) created the Sport Psychology Attitudes- Revised instrument (SPA-R), which has been used in different countries in recent years. The objective of this study is to obtain a Spanish version of this instrument and present its first evidence of reliability, validity and invariance in a sample of 332 Spanish athletes. After carrying out the back-translation of the scale, the different factorial models present in the literature were tested, confirming the four-factor structure. The invariance across age, sex and sport psychology experience and confirmatory reliability is demonstrated, permitting the use of this scale in the Spanish-speaking population. The results obtained are compared with the attitudes of athletes from different countries towards the sport psychology service.

To maximize student learning, teachers intentionally exhibit certain behaviors to build interpersonal relationships with students. One of the behaviors that teachers incorporate in their teaching to clarify and improve students’ understanding of the course content is self-disclosure. However, when it is used inappropriately, it may damage student learning opportunities. Thus, the purpose of this research was to establish the state of the art on teacher self-disclosure through a systematic review of the existing literature, establishing itseffect on the teaching-learning process. A bibliographic search was carried out in different national and international databases, selecting 39 scientific articles for the revision, published between 1982 and 2019, that met the established inclusion criteria. Regarding the effect of teacher self-disclosure on the teaching-learning process, 6 categories weredetermined: cognitive learning, affective learning, academic motivation, participation and interest, teacher-student out-of-class communication and perceptions and evaluations of the teacher, including in each of them the main results of the articles included in the analysis. Based on the obtained results, it is highlighted the need that, in order to promote student learning, teacher self-disclosure must be moderate, relevant and positive.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between technological capabilities, individual impact, market agility and organizational impact in employed and self-employed personal trainers hired by fitness centers. The study was performed with 259 personal trainers. Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and a Structural Equation Model were used. The results showed, for the employees, positive relationships between all variables, except for the relationship between individual impact and organizational impact. In contrast, for self-employed personal trainers, only the relationships of technological capabilities with market agility and individual impact, and between the latter and organizational impact, were positive. While the individual variables of the employees show positive relationships with the organizational variables analyzed, this impact could not be determined in the performance of the self-employed. These results are discussed in relation to the previous literature, and possible causes for the differences found between employees and self-employed personal trainers are pointed out. This study’s findings indicate that the promotion and consolidation of personal trainers’ technological capabilities (TCs), whether they are self-employed or employees, will be key for the fitness centers where they work, by directly influencing the individual impact of the trainers on them and in the organizational performance.

E-Lifestyles are individual forms of behavior in the digital environment that reflect the values, activities, interests, and opinions of consumers. Likewise, fitness Apps are considered technological tools for promoting physical activity online. Although there are studies related to sports lifestyles, it has not been analyzed yet how e-lifestyles are related to the use of fitness Apps. Based on this, this study represents a step to clarify how e-lifestyles influence different relationships with perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, and intentions to use Fitness Apps. Therefore, the objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between the e-lifestyles of consumers of Boutique fitness centers and their relationship with the perceived ease of use, the perceived usefulness, the attitude, and the intention to use Fitness Apps. The sample was 591 customers (378 women and 213 men) of 25 Boutique fitness centers. An online questionnaire was used for data collection. Data was analyzed with confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model. Findings provide an insight into the importance of e-lifestyles in the intention of using fitness Apps and therefore in promoting physical activity through online fitness services. The results showed positive relationships between e-lifestyles, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and attitude toward fitness Apps. Finally, the attitude toward fitness Apps offered a very high predictive value on use intention. This study provides a better understanding of consumer´s intention to use fitness Apps. The conclusions and recommendations for sports managers of fitness centers highlight the importance of e-lifestyles as a predecessor for the use of fitness Apps.

This study aims to express the relationship between own and others’ perception of athletic performance and group cohesion. Participants were 22 rugby players belonging to category B of the Honor Division in Spanish Rugby League. To measure group cohesion, the Spanish version of the Group Environment Questionnaire was used; own and others’ perception of performance were assessed by an ad hoc questionnaire. Results showed that there is no significant relationship between sports performance and social cohesion; however, self-perceived athletic performance and the dimensions of task group integration and individual social attraction were close to significant values. As a conclusion, we can highlight the absence of any direct relation between cohesion and players’ individual performance, which might drive the focus of future research on possible indirect relations between these two constructs.
