The acquisition, processing, and interpretation of thermal images from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is becoming a useful source of information for agronomic applications because of the higher temporal and spatial resolution of these products compared with those obtained from satellites. However, due to the low load capacity of the UAV they need to mount light, uncooled thermal cameras, where the microbolometer is not stabilized to a constant temperature. This makes the camera precision low for many applications. Additionally, the low contrast of the thermal images makes the photogrammetry process inaccurate, which result in large errors in the generation of orthoimages. In this research, we propose the use of new calibration algorithms, based on neural networks, which consider the sensor temperature and the digital response of the microbolometer as input data. In addition, we evaluate the use of the Wallis filter for improving the quality of the photogrammetry process using structure from motion software. With the proposed calibration algorithm, the measurement accuracy increased from 3.55 °C with the original camera configuration to 1.37 °C. The implementation of the Wallis filter increases the number of tie-point from 58,000 to 110,000 and decreases the total positing error from 7.1 m to 1.3 m.

SALINE IRRIGATION OF  SUNFLOWER  (Helianthus Annuus L.) IN SOIL WITH BOVINE BIOFERTILIZER
2 ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate initial growth and gas exchanges of sunflower plants (Helianthus annuus L.) irrigated with different salt concentrations in soil treated with and without bovine biofertilizer. The experiment was conducted at the experimental area in the Agrometeorological station, UFC, Fortaleza-CE, from September to November 2012. Treatments were arranged in a completely randomized 5 x 2 factorial design, with five replicates referring to five electrical conductivity values of irrigated water.: 0.8;1.5;3.0;4.5 and 6.0 dS m-1, in soil with and without bovine biofertilizer. The latter was applied only once, at 10% substrate volume, three days before sowing. The following parameters were evaluated: number of leaves, plant height, stem diameter , leaf area, photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, leaf temperature, internal CO2 concentration, plant transpiration, shoot, root and total dry matter. Salt stress affected stem diameter, leaf area and number of leaves of sunflower plants, and in a lesser degree, in the soil with bovine biofertilizer. Bovine biofertilizer also reduced the negative effects of increasing salt concentrations in the irrigation water observed in shoot, root and total dry matter of sunflower plants. Keywords: salt stress, physiological indices, organic fertilizer.

The use of Bacillus sp. mitigates salt stress and increases the productive yield in soybean plants. In this context, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the production of soybean grown under different forms of fertilization and salt stress, inoculated with Bacillus sp. The experiment was performed in the experimental area of the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (UNILAB), Redenção, Ceará, Brazil. A completely randomized design was used in a 4 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme, with five replications, corresponding to four forms of fertilization (F1 = 100% of the NPK recommendation; F2 = 50% of the NPK recommendation; F3 = 100% bovine biofertilizer; F4 = organomineral fertilization - 50% NPK + 50% bovine biofertilizer), two electrical conductivities of the irrigation water (ECw - 0.3 and 4.0 dS m-1), with and without inoculation of Bacillus sp. The forms of fertilization organic with 100% of the recommendation through bovine biofertilizer, organomineral fertilization - 50% mineral and 50% organic with bovine biofertilizer, and 50% of the NPK recommendation promote greater productive performance of the soybean crop irrigated with water of lower salinity. Organomineral fertilization - 50% mineral and 50% organic with bovine biofertilizer was more efficient for soybean production, in the absence or presence of Bacillus sp. Salt stress negatively affected the production components of soybean crop under all forms of fertilization.
