Agriculture is the primary source of income in developing countries like India. Agriculture accounts for 17 percent of India’s total GDP, with almost 60 percent of the people directly or indirectly employed. While researchers and planters focus on a variety of elements to boost productivity, crop loss due to disease is one of the most serious issues they confront. Crop growth monitoring and early detection of pest infestations are still a problem. With the expansion of cultivation to wider fields, manual intervention to monitor and diagnose insect and pest infestations is becoming increasingly difficult. Failure to apply on time fertilizers and pesticides results in more crop loss and so lower output. Farmers are putting in greater effort to conserve crops, but they are failing most of the time because they are unable to adequately monitor the crops when they are infected by pests and insects. Pest infestation is also difficult to predict because it is not evenly distributed. In the recent past, modern equipment, tools, and approaches have been used to replace manual involvement. Unmanned aerial vehicles serve a critical role in crop disease surveillance and early detection in this setting. This research attempts to give a review of the most successful techniques to have precision-based crop monitoring and pest management in agriculture fields utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or unmanned aircraft. The researchers’ reports on the various types of UAVs and their applications to early detection of agricultural diseases are rigorously assessed and compared. This paper also discusses the deployment of aerial, satellite, and other remote sensing technologies for disease detection, as well as their Quality of Service (QoS).

Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a widespread, chronic, irreversible, and degenerative condition, and its early detection during the prodromal stage is of utmost importance. Typically, AD studies rely on single data modalities, such as MRI or PET, for making predictions. Nevertheless, combining metabolic and structural data can offer a comprehensive perspective on AD staging analysis. To address this goal, this paper introduces an innovative multi-modal fusion-based approach named as Dual-3DM 3 -AD. This model is proposed for an accurate and early Alzheimer’s diagnosis by considering both MRI and PET image scans. Initially, we pre-process both images in terms of noise reduction, skull stripping and 3D image conversion using Quaternion Non-local Means Denoising Algorithm (QNLM), Morphology function and Block Divider Model (BDM), respectively, which enhances the image quality. Furthermore, we have adapted Mixed-transformer with Furthered U-Net for performing semantic segmentation and minimizing complexity. Dual-3DM 3 -AD model is consisted of multi-scale feature extraction module for extracting appropriate features from both segmented images. The extracted features are then aggregated using Densely Connected Feature Aggregator Module (DCFAM) to utilize both features. Finally, a multi-head attention mechanism is adapted for feature dimensionality reduction, and then the softmax layer is applied for multi-class Alzheimer’s diagnosis. The proposed Dual-3DM 3 -AD model is compared with several baseline approaches with the help of several performance metrics. The final results unveil that the proposed work achieves 98% of accuracy, 97.8% of sensitivity, 97.5% of specificity, 98.2% of f-measure, and better ROC curves, which outperforms other existing models in multiclass Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

The rapid development and the expansion of Internet of Things (IoT)-powered technologies have strengthened the way we live and the quality of our lives in many ways by combining Internet and communication technologies through its ubiquitous nature. As a novel technological paradigm, this IoT is being served in many application domains including healthcare, surveillance, manufacturing, industrial automation, smart homes, the military, etc. Medical Internet of Things (MIoT), or the use of IoT in healthcare, is becoming a booming trend towards improving the health and wellbeing of billions of people by offering smooth and seamless medical facilities and by enhancing the services provided by medical practitioners, nurses, pharmaceutical companies, and other related government and non-government organizations. In recent times, this MIoT has gained higher attention for its potential to alleviate the massive burden on global healthcare, which has been caused by the rise of chronic diseases, the aging population, and emergency situations such as the recent COVID-19 global pandemic, where many government and non-government medical resources were challenged, owing to the rising demand for medical resources. It is evident that with this recent growing demand for MIoT, the associated technologies and its interconnected, heterogeneous nature adds new concerns as it becomes accessible to confidential patient data, often without patient or the medical staff consciousness, as the security and privacy of MIoT devices and technologies are often overlooked and undermined by relevant stakeholders. Hence, the growing security breaches that target the MIoT in healthcare are making the security and privacy of Medical IoT a crucial topic that is worth scrutinizing. In this study, we examined the current state of security and privacy of the MIoT, which has become of utmost concern among many security experts and researchers due to its rapid demand in recent times. Nevertheless, pertaining to the current state of security and privacy, we also examine and discuss a number of attack use cases, countermeasures and solutions, recent challenges, and anticipated future directions where further attention is required through this study.

Epilepsy is considered as a serious brain disorder in which patients frequently experience seizures. The seizures are defined as the unexpected electrical changes in brain neural activity, which leads to unconsciousness. Existing researches made an intense effort for predicting the epileptic seizures using brain signal data. However, they faced difficulty in obtaining the patients' characteristics because the model's distribution turned to fake predictions, affecting the model's reliability. In addition, the existing prediction models have severe issues, such as overfitting and false positive rates. To overcome these existing issues, we propose a deep learning approach known as Deep dual‐patch attention mechanism ( D 2 PAM ) for classifying the pre‐ictal signals of people with Epilepsy based on the brain signals. Deep neural network is integrated with D 2 PAM , and it lowers the effect of differences between patients to predict ES. The multi‐network design enhances the trained model's generalisability and stability efficiently. Also, the proposed model for processing the brain signal is designed to transform the signals into data blocks, which is appropriate for pre‐ictal classification. The earlier warning of epilepsy with the proposed model obtains the auxiliary diagnosis. The data of real patients for the experiments provides the improved accuracy by D 2 PAM approximation compared to the existing techniques. To be more distinctive, the authors have analysed the performance of their work with five patients, and the accuracy comes out to be 95%, 97%, 99%, 99%, and 99% respectively. Overall, the numerical results unveil that the proposed work outperforms the existing models.

An efficient feature extraction method for two classes of electroencephalography (EEG) is demonstrated using Common Spatial Patterns (CSP) with optimal spatial filters. However, the effects of artifacts and non-stationary uncertainty are more pronounced when CSP filtering is used. Furthermore, traditional CSP methods lack frequency domain information and require many input channels. Therefore, to overcome this shortcoming, a feature extraction method based on Online Recursive Independent Component Analysis (ORICA)-CSP is proposed. For EEG-based brain—computer interfaces (BCIs), especially online and real-time BCIs, the most widely used classifiers used to be linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and support vector machines (SVM). Previous evaluations clearly show that SVMs generally outperform other classifiers in terms of performance. In this case, Adaptive Support Vector Machine (A-SVM) is used for classification together with the ORICA-CSP method. The results are promising, and the experiments are performed on EEG data of 4 classes’ motor images, namely Dataset 2a of BCI Competition IV.
