María-Teresa García Conesa is a senior scientist working at the Food Science and Technology Department, CEBAS-CSIC, Murcia, Spain. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK). Her main interests are understanding the role of dietary bioactive compounds in health, with a focus on deciphering variability in the response to these compounds, finding true responders and linking metabolic conversion and mechanisms of action. She is an expert on gene expression responses to bioactive polyphenols. She has conducted combined research in human trials, animal models and cell studies.
