Maja Karnaš was born in Osijek, Croatia on March 16th, 1990. She graduated in 2014 from the Department of Chemistry at the J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek, and obtained a master's degree in chemistry education. From 2013 to 2018, she worked as a laboratory technician at the Department of Chemistry in Osijek. Since 2018, she has been an assistant at the Department of Agroecology and Environmental Protection of the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences in Osijek, where she participates in teaching chemistry at undergraduate level. She is currently a postgraduate student in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology in Zagreb. She is the author and co-author of 16 scientific papers quoted in the WoS base (h-index 6).
