Dr. Joannis K. Kallitsis is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Patras and an affiliated faculty member of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas/Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT). He spent postdoctoral years at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research and the Kunstoff Laboratorium BASF. He has been invited to be a Professor at ECPM, Strasbourg; ESCPI, Paris; and ETH, Zurich. His research activities focus on the development of new polymeric and hybrid materials of various architectures and functionalities. One main research activity is devoted to the preparation of new aromatic polyelectrolytes presenting ionic conductivity and their application in HT PEMFCs. He is a co-author of more than 230 papers in international refereed journals. He has participated in several national and international research projects.
