During the operation of solar and wind power plants, it is necessary to solve issues related to the guaranteed capacity of these plants, as well as the frequency stabilisation in the power system where they operate, and maintain an operating mode of self-sufficiency conditions. One of the solutions to these problems is the use of energy storage systems. This article proposes a mathematical model for the study of frequency and power regulation processes in power systems with distributed generation, which includes renewable energy resources and energy storage systems. The novelty of the model lies in the possibility of determining energy cost indicators based on instantaneous energy power data. The model allows us to estimate the conditions under which distributed generation becomes self-sufficient. The results of the model calculations of two variants of power system operation, which includes wind generators with a capacity of 1500 MW, demonstrate the ability of the proposed model to accurately reproduce the dynamics of the frequency stabilisation process. The calculation results of the energy-economic indicators of a real power system combined with a powerful subsystem of wind generation and a battery-type energy storage system prove the competitiveness of self-sufficient renewable energy power plants.

Free volume and pore size distribution size in functional micro and macro-micro-modified Cu0.4Co0.4Ni0.4Mn1.8O4 ceramics are characterized by positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy in comparison with Hg-porosimetry and scanning electron microscopy technique. Positron annihilation results are interpreted in terms of model implication positron trapping and ortho-positronium decaying. It is shown that free volume of positron traps are the same type for macro and micro modified Cu0.4Co0.4Ni0.4Mn1.8O4 ceramics. Classic Tao-Eldrup model in spherical approximation is used to calculation of the size of nanopores smaller than 2 nm using the ortho-positronium lifetime.

Optical and FTIR spectroscopy was employed to study the properties of 80GeS2-20Ga2S3-CsCl chalcohalide glasses with CsCl additives in a temperature range of 77–293 K. It is shown that CsCl content results in the shift of fundamental absorption edge in the visible region. Vibrational bands in FTIR spectra of (80GeS2-20Ga2S3)100 − х (СsCl) x (x = 5, 10, and 15) are identified near 2500 cm−1, 3700 cm−1,, around 1580 cm−1, and a feature at 1100 cm−1. Low energy shifts of vibrational frequencies in glasses with a higher amount of CsCl can be caused by possible thermal expansion of the lattice and nanovoid agglomeration formed by CsCl additives in the inner structure of the Ge-Ga-S glass.

Monitoring of the thermal resistance of building envelopes for assessing their energy efficiency is carried out through in-situ measurements of the heat flux. It is therefore necessary to take into account not only the heat transfer conditions of the studied object but also the characteristics of the measuring instruments, which may depend on these conditions. This paper presents the results of a study of the characteristics of heat flux sensors of two types —bimetallic and semiconductor — which are the most common in the control of building envelopes. The case studies were focused on the characteristics of the sensors, such as the conversion coefficient (inversely proportional to sensitivity to the heat flux), the temperature dependence of the conversion coefficient, the response time of the sensors, and the emissivity of the sensor surface. The conversion coefficient of a bimetallic sensor was determined under the conditions of conduction and radiation supply of heat energy, which revealed the dependence of the conversion coefficient on the heat transfer conditions of the sensor surface. The value of the emissivity of the semiconductor sensor surface is lower than that of bimetallic sensors, and the time constant of bi-metallic sensors is two times less than that of semiconductor sensors. Verification of the obtained results was carried out by studying the metrological characteristics of the multi-channel thermal resistance control system, which included bimetallic heat flux sensors as sensitive elements. Thus, we suppose that the results of our study could be used to improve the accuracy in measuring the thermal resistance of building envelopes by the correct selection of heat flow sensors, or by making corrections to the measurement results that take into account the influence of experimental conditions on the characteristics of the sensors.
