Alexandra D. Solomou is a Principal Researcher in Plant Biodiversity of Forest Ecosystems at the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems (IMFE), ELGO-DIMITRA. Her interests are focused on monitoring, evaluating, conserving, and utilizing plant diversity in Mediterranean and Forest ecosystems. She has published many articles in international peer-reviewed journals and at National and International conferences. She has also participated in 40 national and international research projects funded by various authorities/organizations/private companies (European Commission, Greece). She is also a member of the National Committee of Protected Areas “NATURA 2000” and a National Focal Point of the FAO organization for Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture. She is also a member of the advisory committee for the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE).
